What another lovely day to pack up and move on. We did our usual I pack up the inside whilst
Jason supervises the kids and then roles are reversed so Jason can pack up the
outside of the van. It does work really
well. Hamish had made a few more friends
at this park but luckily they all were also moving on today so they all played
happily whilst everyone packed up and we all went on our way.
We only had a short 140km drive today and it was a nice leisurely
day. We arrived at Mildura and went to
our first pick caravan park, but it wasn’t for us. It was no really on the river front (like
advertised) and just not what we expected.
So we moved to one more in town that had a higher rating. It is a lovely little park and we are very
glad we made the choice. We slowly set
up and then decided to have an ice cream since it was so hot.
Random fruit fly sign over the road.
Then we went for a drive to check out the town. Jason was totally blown away by the sheer
number of beautiful grass tennis courts they had down on the river. Hamish saw the size of the playground and was
equally impressed. Needless to say we
had to stop for Hamish to have a play.
It was so nice and relaxing on the riverbank and it was topped off with a
nice cool breeze. We then just went for
a drive down the main street before returning back to the van for afternoon
drinks!
Kayla enjoying the park.
Hamish enjoying the playground.
Our wine cellar is running low again so I guess we had
better restock it J. Though job that one! Hamish made friends with a family in the park
(who are unfortunately leaving tomorrow).
They are on holidays but have a massive bus that they have converted (washing
machine and all) which nicely fits them and their four kids. We just had a lazy dinner before walking
across to the shopping centre for some dessert.
We are really looking forward to checking out this area more
over the next few days.
