Another beautiful day.

Well even more kids have arrived so Hamish is in heaven.  I don’t know what the grey nomads think of this bunch of kids running up and down the river with pretend guns (sticks) and saying how Steve (that is the name of the duck didn’t you know) is at war with the goose.  All I can see is Hamish sliding down in the dirt in his jacket and pants wondering how long it is going to be until they get a hole and how much washing it is creating.
Hamish heading down the river bank.

Kayla chilling whilst the boys play.

After his mean parents drag him away from his friends we went to get a picture of the big Murray Cod.  We pulled up and pointed it out to Hamish but he wasn’t interested so it was only Jason who got his photo with it.  I have a sinking feeling this is the only Murray Cod I am going to get to see, and at least Jason had a bit of hummer about that fact also.  Then it was off to some Burke and Wills tree which really wasn’t exciting.
Jason's big catch.

The rest of the morning we just did the food shopping and returned to the van so Jason could reset his shrimp traps with soap and gum leaves.  Jason says the locals swear by it.  Personally I think he got the local “Keith” who has just made it all up so he can have a good laugh at the people who actually try it.  The weather has cooled down a bit again in the morning and nights, however the days are still beautiful and we love these sunny days.  We do get little updates on the weather back home and I think we are grateful to have left the rain behind, even though I think all the locals wish we had bought it with us.
Look who is starting to sit up.

Nice way to end the day.

We of course returned to the pioneer village to see the baby animals again.  At least it kept Hamish entertained so Jason and I could take turns in checking out the other displays.  Jason took Hamish and Kayla for a ride in the vintage car and then Hamish asked for another ride on the horse and cart.  We then got dressed up in some old school clothes and had some pictures taken.
This ride was only 20c... bring back the ole days.

I am back....

He really does love the animals.

He kept telling the lambs to wait - of course they didn't listen.

By now we were tired, okay the kids could continue forever but the poor old parents needed to rest their tired feet.  Jason took Kayla fishing since Hamish wasn’t interested, and I sat and watch Hamish play with his new friends.  I even ventured to the park shop to get some beer due to the fact our wine cellar ran dry the other night.  Oh and in sad news, we weren’t able to source neither a new wine cup nor training wheels for Hamish’s bike.  Hopefully Echuca proves a bit more successful in that area.
Going for a ride in the vintage car.
